Arman celebrates his 100th public sculpture Arman has always accumulated...accumulations : suitcases, watches, telephones, violoncellos, cars, washing machine drums, even busts of Lenin and alembics. Armans's most recent creations; "Distillerie idéologique" in Paris, "Matricielle" (for Guy Degrenne) and "Prometheus" (Germany) which were unveiled this autumn bear witness to the ever-renewed creative powers of this artist and bring his 30 years of public work one step further. This restless creativity has produced 100 sculptures to date, adorning public institutions, thoroughfares, factories, foundations and numerous museums all over the world. Among the best known are "Espoir de paix" at Beirut (1995), "Consignes à vie" at the Saint Lazare train station in Paris (1985), "Long Term Parking" at Jouy-en-Josas (1982) and "A la République" at the Elysée Palace in Paris (1984).
